Opuka
When Opuka society was born in 2000 Radek Herold and Jiří Mareček shared a common interest in side music genres. They started to work with industrial and sampling with the help of computers and minidiscs. Herold gradually pushed their music experiments of sound deconstruction and glitch. Slowly some melodic elements started to sneak into their final collages. In that time Opuka was a frequent guest of the Prague club Alternatiff, with Do Shaska! or Birds Build Nests Underground. In 2005 Opuka increased by another two members – videoartist Dušan Urbanec and artist Filip Lang and they began to to experiment and seek a certain parallel between picture and sound and to reconnoitre possibilities of their mutual communication.
